Coming soon: SURVIVED – The Motion Picture
An innocent young boy is left to fend for himself in poverty-strickened, crime-filled Kingston, Jamaica, while an application for US residency, on his behalf, pends.
And with his only security being from criminals and predators, abuse, shoot-outs, police raids and deaths were some of the grazes experienced, which made him hardened and fearless before migrating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his though-to-be safe haven.
But the survival skills learnt in feuding Kingston became just as necessary to have in poor, dirty, run-down Philly, and again the boy must find away to adulthood and to his dream of ‘a somebody’ without being killed or spending the rest of his life in the penal system.

About this project
The aim is to produce a documentary titled SURVIVED, which will be a narrative Motion Picture of the book SURVIVED Raw and Unedited, ISBN No. 978 0 9559662 6 2, featuring footage of locations in Kingston, Jamaica, Philadelphia, USA and other scenes in North America.
Additionally, interviews and testimonies from individuals, who witnessed the real story, as it unfolded, will be incorporated.
The intended project requires a professional video camera, a tripod, portable studio lighting, portable background screen and rail, microphones and receivers, for filming, a professional film editing software, music and sounds to be mixed in afterwards, licencing and approximately 200 hours of labor, before pitching the finished product to a television network.
The purpose of this project is to overextend the book arm, and reach a global audience, especially, targeted audience of poverty and those suffering from low self-esteem, illiteracy and drug addiction, giving them inspiration of endless possibilities to survive and becoming successful, despite all odds.
Risks and challenges
To shoot this documentary, in some of the required locations of Kingston, Jamaica is likely to attract illegal taxation, considering that these areas are poor, violent and usually governed by their own rules.
To overcome such challenges require, one of two things. (1) Pay the demanded toll or (2) hire legal security from available forces or the police department.
In Philadelphia, the filming and interviewing of police officers, law enforcement officers and Judges, is likely to be time consuming and fee attracting.
Still, this project is 100% doable and I am confident of being successful, but delays for negotiations could create setbacks in both locations, affecting any deadline.
For the Documentary SURVIVED, I seek a backing of $30,000.00 USD (Thirty Thousand Dollars) or the equipment outlined.
This projects aims to be completed by June 1, 2016. For more info. please contact Sebastian Books (Publishing House) email@example.com
